The Ontario Provincial Police was founded in 1909 and currently has over 8000 serving uniform and civilian members who together police 327 of the 444 municipalities in Ontario. Combined, our members serve the citizens of Ontario with pride, professionalism, and honour in excess of 7 million hours each year. Members of the Ontario Provincial Police face dangerous and traumatic events which have led to line of duty death, because of duty deaths and post traumatic stress disorders. Since 1909, 109 Ontario Provincial Police officers have been killed in the line of duty.
All proceeds from the OPP 115th Anniversary Ride will benefit Boots On The Ground – an anonymous helpline providing confidential and anonymous peer support to First Responders across the province, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is a charitable organization completely run and staffed by volunteers.
